Litton Das, Bangladesh's Test vice-captain, believes his team can win the second Test against India after knocking over four Indian wickets to leave the visitors at 45-4.
After Liton's steady 73 and a wagging tail guided the hosts to 231 all out, the Bangladesh bowlers were given 145 runs to defend.
Despite the low score, spinners Mehidy Hasan and Shakib Al Hasan rose to the occasion, reducing India to 45-4 at stumps with 100 to go, leaving the match hanging in the balance.
Mehidy took three wickets after Shakib's first, dismissing Cheteshwar Pujara (six), Shubman Gill (seven), and Virat Kohli (one). Shakib began the collapse by dismissing captain KL Rahul for two runs.
Axar Patel survived the day to be undefeated on 26 with nightwatchman Jaydev Unadkat (three), with first-innings heroes Rishabh Pant and Shreyas Iyer yet to bat.
"Of course, we can win if we can pick up one or two wickets early in the morning," Litton stated after the day's play [as quoted by Cricbuzz].
"Undoubtedly, we are currently ahead and they are under pressure." If we come up with a good plan tomorrow, they will undoubtedly fail. That is our intention. We must triumph.
"We can win if we can get one or two wickets early in the morning," Litton Das says.. We knew we had to set them a target of 200-220, but with the score we actually gave them, they still need 100 and it is still challenging. If we take one or two fast wickets tomorrow, they will be under pressure. This goal, in my opinion, is sufficient for triumph.
Axar had previously dismissed three Bangladesh batsman, and all of India's bowlers had taken wickets.

Liton, on the other hand, rode his luck in an innings in which he was dropped twice by Kohli – first off Axar and then off Ravichandran Ashwin – to score what could be 73 crucial runs.
After opener Zakir Hasan (51) fell soon after lunch, he had little help on the other end until wicketkeeper Nurul Hasan joined him at the crease and the pair put on an aggressive 46-run stand.
Axar broke the stand when he lured Nurul out of his crease to set up an easy stumping for Pant.
Liton then added another 60 runs with Taskin Ahmed (31) before being dismissed by a Siraj delivery that tucked back in and found the gap between bat and pad.
Even with those minor pockets of resistance, India appeared to be in perfect control of the match, picking up regular wickets and ensuring that all of their bowlers shared in the benefits.
