Doheny was a member of the Irish T20 World Cup 2022 team, but he did not play. Doheny is scheduled to make his debut for Team USA in the upcoming six-match multi-format series.

Andrew Balbirnie will serve as the captain of both teams, and while Paul Stirling is a member of the ODI squad, he will not play in the T20I series in order to participate in the new International League T20. Josh Little, a left-arm seamer, will play in the SA20 but will miss the ODIs because of it.Ireland's top seamer for T20WC 2022 Josh LittleAfter almost four years, fast bowler Tyrone Kane rejoins the team. In July 2019, he played against Zimbabwe in his final match.

Legspinner Ben White and wicketkeeper-batter Neil Rock, both of whom made their professional debuts in 2021, are also making a comeback.

"We have taken advantage of the decision to give a few of our players the opportunity to compete in franchise tournaments," said National Selector Andrew White."We have taken advantage of this decision, even though the squads chosen reflect the new dynamic and positive mindset that Heinrich and his staff have been establishing in our white-ball squads."

Josh Little has been given permission to miss the T20I series in order to play in the SA20, while Paul Stirling has been given permission to play in the one-day series against Zimbabwe but miss the T20I series and play in the new International League T20.

He said as well: "This selection flexibility will enable us to provide opportunities to a number of unproven players, most notably Stephen Doheny, who is set to make his international debut after serving a protracted apprenticeship, and Tyrone Kane, who is returning to the senior set-up." Tyrone's ability to contribute has altered in recent years, and as the selection strategy looks for individuals who align with the team's playing style, his batting in the middle and later innings fits the bill without a doubt. Interestingly, Tyrone's final game for Ireland was against Zimbabwe, and we wish him well as he rejoins the team. Paul and Josh missing the T20I series made room for Ben White and Neil Rock to make a comeback. Ben has benefited from spending time in the nets working on his legspin under the guidance of Spin Bowling Coach Nathan Hauritz, and Neil will mostly serve as a batsman for the team.Ireland triumphs unexpectedly over England.A three-match T20I series will start the tour on January 12, and then a three-match ODI series will begin on January 18. T20I team members include Tyrone Kane, Andrew Balbirnie (captain), Mark Adair, Curtis Campher, Gareth Delany, George Dockrell, Stephen Doheny, Fionn Hand, Graham Hume, Barry McCarthy, Neil Rock, Harry Tector, Lorcan Tucker, and Ben White.
